The Friends of the Library supports the Collierville Library.  Donate your time in the Friends Again Bookstore, or donate new and gently used books which are sold in the bookstore to raise funds for library needs or are sold in their semi-annual big sales.

The CLC provides services that include Basic Adult Literacy, High School Equivalency and English Language Learning.  If you are interested in volunteering with the Collierville Literacy Council, please contact Kelly Thieme at 901.854.0288, or by e-mail at info@colliervilleliteracy.org.

If you enjoy playing Scrabble, consider getting a team together for Collierville Literacy Council’s 13th Annual SCRABBLE® FUNdraiser Tournament. Play will take place on Sunday, November 12, 2017, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at St. George’s Independent School, 1800 Wolf River Blvd. in Collierville. Register as a team of 3 players or as an individual. Persons registering as individuals will be grouped with two other individuals to form a team of three. Please use one form to register a team of three players. Everyone 10 years or older is eligible to play.

The entry fee is $100 for a team of 3 players registering on one form. The fee is $45 for an individual player. Registration forms are due November 6 and may be printed from the Collierville Literacy Council website. All proceeds benefit Basic Literacy, High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation/testing and English Language Learning (ELL) programs for adults in the Mid-South.

Page Robins is an adult day center for those with memory loss.  New Neighbors hosts a birthday party each month for their clients.

 

 TEAM READ

Shelby County Schools is recruiting individual volunteers for Team Read, a tutoring program designed to help second and third graders improve their sight word vocabulary. After completing a training program, volunteers commit to tutoring each week from October through April.
